Released this morning, ATB’s latest provincial economic forecast shows that we have come a long way from the early days of the pandemic when GDP activity was in free fall, unemployment was spiking and rumours of a decade-long economic collapse were circulating. There is a lot of controversy out there about having a realtor represent you when buying a brand new home. I am here to state the facts. 

1. Having representation brings my price point up. MYTH - Not only can I negotiate on your behalf to make sure you are getting the best deal, commissions that builders pay to agents comes from a completely separate budget and has nothing to do with the purchase price. 

2. Having representation is more beneficial when the realtor has knowledge and experience in new homes. TRUTH - As someone who has worked in new home sales, I can sort through the competition, make sure you are getting the best quality, and save you time and money in the process.

Asphalt roofing will last about 15 years, so it’s important that it is properly maintained to get the most out of your roof.

Once per year, check the roof and take care of any issues that might cause major damage down the road. If you can, hire a professional to inspect the roof. You can get on a ladder to do it yourself, but make sure that safety is the number one priority. In some cases, you can check for any issues from ground level by using binoculars.

Buckling, curling, broken, or missing shingles: Single shingles can easily be replaced.

My journey into the Home Sales business began when I was only 18 years old. Now, almost 7 years later, all of my accomplishments I owe to choosing boldness. Oil and Gas Capital Spending

Oil and gas capital spending better but far from great

As expected, oil and gas extraction capital spending in Canada has improved since the lows reached last year due to the oil price crash and the onset of the pandemic.

Seasonally adjusted spending by oil and gas companies in the second quarter was 46.4% higher than during the same period last year for an increase of $1.8 billion.

There is still some catching up to do with spending over the first half of the year down by 10.3% ($1.3 billion), but forecasts suggest that the difference will be made up over the second half of the year.
